The England tour: Horror turned into Nightmare!

Ever since the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup was won by the great team India, the cricketing fans of the nation has seen a series of disappointing results. It has struck like a jinx, the World Cup.
And when Mahendra Singh Dhoni hit that gigantic six to win the trophy, it was hoped that a new era of cricketing has fallen upon the Indians. Although I was a huge cricketing fan until the age of about 13, I am now more into football and do not follow much cricket. But the deeds of the Indian team hasn't fallen outside my critical ears and though I did appreciate their awesome victory at the ICC Champions Trophy last year, their performances in test matches, especially outside the sub-continent has suddenly stimulated my anger cells. Whitewashed 0-4 by England in the test series in 2011, same year again whitewashed 0-4 by Australia, lost 0-1 to South Africa, lost 1-2 again to England at home and finally the current tour of England, lost 1-3 again to the mighty English. What saddens me most is that the first test was a draw and the second test was won by India, but then you let the home team to claw back and win the whole test series! Such disappointing display and they expect the Government to make this a national sport. I will kill anyone who would suggest this initiative the next time.

The current test series has ended in a very disappointing and shameful way. The final two test matches got over within 3 days. So, England didn't even need the whole 5 days to wrap up the Indian batting line-up. Such a shame for the glamorous boys. Now, don't expect me to show pity to these players. I followed the Indian team long back when the 'fabulous four' made the tours of England and Australia beautifully watchable. And if you are wondering who these four were, then you might have missed a beautiful phase of Indian cricket, consisting of Tendulkar, Dravid, Ganguly and VVS Laxman. Oh, those were the days!! Quite nostalgic and amazing days!! Their retirement has definitely hit the fans but the team should have learned to adapt till now. I know it is hard to go out there and represent the country but this shameless display has been going on for the past 3 years. I didn't have a problem with the test series losses against England and Australia in 2011, but this time I wouldn't sit quiet. The old, useless coach has survived too long. If it had been some other nation, the coach would have been sacked long way back during the Australia test series as well. But this is Indian cricket, controlled by the corrupted BCCI, which is shamelessly hungry about only money. Cricket has been corrupted further with the advent of the IPL but nothing has been done to upgrade the performances of the national team. Is this why the fans pay to watch the sport, for a losing cause every single time? It is high time a change is made to the Indian test team. The coach should be sacked big time. Everybody but the BCCI has had enough of Duncan Fletcher. If he is not getting the results, then why is he even with the team till now. As I have already said, I hate cricket and do not follow it but hearing about such disappointing losses of the Indian team makes me really angry. As an Indian boy, I would welcome to see the Indian team back on winning ways. Good Luck!
