What may be the
connection between these simple nouns and verbs? Game of Thrones, certainly.
And if you are still picturing those memorable scenes from Game of Thrones,
then you are just being normal, just like me. Back in September, when I came
across GoT, courtesy one of my friends, I assumed it to be one of those
pornographic drama serials with a baseless story to assist it. And how awfully
wrong I was. But my misjudgment was justified, given the enormously high number
of topless females being shown in every episode, added with a few steamy
private moments on the bed, especially till season 3. And finally, I watched all
of the 4 seasons this summer, which left my appreciative mind still gasping for
more. Thanks to that, I came to know about a certain Maisie Williams (read AryaStark) and Peter Hayden Dinklage (read Tyrion Lannister). Arya practicing,or
rather dancing with her needle still plays in my head and in my sleep. Wow!
That cute, someone can be! And which is why she, along with Tyrion Lannister,
are my favourite characters.
As a boring and
idle boy, I have never quite enjoyed the mention of sitcoms or fictional drama
serials, let alone watching complete seasons. The only ones I had watched were
Sherlock, and Two and A Half-Men (enjoyed until Charlie Sheen was removed from
the cast), with the later being deeply attached to my heart because of the three
central characters, especially Charlie Harper. And this was obviously before Game
of Thrones happened. And how glad I was to have actually watched it. Seemingly,
that is not a thing of pride, but at least at my deathbed, I can cherish those
stories and characters. GoT is one of those amazingly directed fictional drama,
which would surely keep you glued to your PC until you are finished with all
the seasons left in it. No matter how violent some scenes may have been
depicted, it still has that wow factor attached to it and its amazing cast. Remember the scene when Theon Greyjoy's nails were pierced with a blade? Or when one of the Unsullied's nipples were cut off? Violence at its utmost level!! The
only thing that disturbs me is that females are depicted as mere sex objects. I
don’t know how the director wanted that to be perceived but if no person has
any objection, I am no evil either. On the other hand, every cast member has
depicted their role so beautifully that every character, both good and evil has
become part of the fans’ lives, especially Arya, Tyrion, Jon Snow, Daenerys
Stormborn and Bran Stark. Well, I can’t just go on writing long descriptions
about them but I can assure you that the ending scene in season four where Arya
sails to Braavos, creates goosebumps in me with that soulful theme music
playing in the background. If you do not believe me, go check it out yourself!
And until season 5 comes out, I will obviously be curiously awaiting for it,
like any other fan. As this isn’t a spoiler, I wouldn’t write about certain
later events, which I accidently came to know from a few of my friends. But,
seriously GoT had stopped me from feeding my blog for about a week. I resumed my
typing by spelling out my mind on this series! Tit for tat!
Winter is
definitely coming!
