The Curious Case of Pakistan!
Remember in your childhood days, you had an irritating
schoolmate, who would do anything to provoke you.
And when you reacted to his action, he would go on
to complain to the respective teacher, which would make you look like the
culprit yourself. Occasionally, you wanted to bash his face and uproot a few of
his teeth, wishing to see a tooth-less grin out of him. But you had absolutely no
choice and so had to tolerate such tantrums from him, sadly!
Now, similar is the situation in the present scenario where the annoying schoolmate is Pakistan. History would perhaps put a better view with a long array of details about mainly the Kashmir issue involving our neighbouring country. The frequent terrorist attacks coming from Pakistan, the recent of which were Pathankot and Uri, are becoming gravely intolerable. It is an open secret that Pakistan sponsors terrorism from within their territory. Even Bin Laden found home and peace there before the USA gate-crashed into the great Pakistan!
Like it or not, I have completely no feelings for that country. Social media have been flooded with suggestions that India
should declare a war on that irrelevant country but fights on the battleground are not as easy as is shown in Bollywood movies. So, what should we do?
Should we sit lip-tied without performing any action? Or should there be peace
talks? Or should there be rather a full-fledged war against that
terrorist-state?
Peace talks have always been a rubbish diplomatic solution
with Pakistan. These talks have never worked with them nor ever will. Friendship with a terrorist country is out of question at this moment. Countless ceasefire
violation along the borders and continuous terrorist attacks emanating from
them prove the fact. The issue of Kashmir has been running long enough to bore
off any person. What do they really want from Kashmir? Is their ego at stake? Are the continuous lost wars still giving them nightmares at night? Like a desperate moron, they have been throwing outbursts about India’s injustice in J&K on the International platform since eternity. But
what about places like Balochistan? Reality is that they have been continuously
encroaching human rights by torturing, kidnapping and killing off any
opposition in those pity regions. On the other hand, separatist leaders in Kashmir, despite being indulging in violent protests are being offered peace talks with the Indian Government to resolve their issues. In Balochistan, peace is a word which the people haven't even heard of. The ISI and the Pakistani military operate on the same grounds as ISIS and
Al-Qaeda. So, what is the way forward? If violence isn’t the way, what
is?
Well, for starters, let’s say India isolate Pakistan
completely. We boycott everything that is Pakistan. From sports to trade and commerce, nothing should be left out. BCCI has already been doing
a favor by not inviting their national team to play a full series in our
country since 2007. Cricket lovers might not have likened this episode but kudos to BCCI. The Indus River treaty and other such harmonious treaties as it stands out, can be
scrapped completely. And what about
Pakistani artists and their daily soaps which are shown in Indian TV? Should
they be treated equally as well? Some trivially peaceful individuals would say that nothing would be
achieved by snubbing Pakistani artists and they should be
waived off this harsh boycott as art brings the world together irrespective of boundaries. But such naive and futile talks sound pleasurable only on paper and doesn't apply to countries like Pakistan.
If we are to really make a strong statement, then we have to banish all these
soft stands and reject everything even remotely
associated with that country. The idea to disconnect Pakistan will leave behind a firm statement only if it is done full-fledgedly.
Revenge and hate are very negative words but the current
situation demands that India takes some real resilient decisions. PM Modi needs to
implement these rightaway, regardless of what the opposition, the Leftists and
a few sick press people say. For example, even if Modi actually takes a substantially harsh decision, some of these people would side with the innocent and friendly-neighbourhood Nawaz Sharif along
with his pure Pakistanis, who have absolutely no interest in Kashmir. Also, if
Modi stands back with no action, a part of the journalists would then get a
topic and begin questioning his 56’ chest.
It is Now or Never!
