Fantasy Fable: The Evening!
“I have reached. Where are you?” read her message.
He is always late. He has never set a record for being on
time for any event. It had become a habit that even a special evening couldn’t set
aside.
“I’ll be there in a quarter of an hour!” he replied quickly.
For him, a quarter of an hour meant at least half.
Such was his rush!
He finally arrived, late as usual. He looked worn out
already. The evening was a special one, at least for him. He seldom met her in
such a desolate confrontation. He was nervous, obviously.
But then, he saw her coming all the way through the
path which made all of his fears disappear. She looked like an exquisite fairy in
human form walking towards him. Her dazzling eyes and that gorgeous smile melted
all his fears from within.
Her mere arrival for a short evening had added so much
positivity within him. He wondered the consequence of her advent towards his life
in his ingenuity.
“Sorry, I was late. Can’t help this habit!” he said in the
warmest manner he could.
“Oh, don’t worry. I was window-shopping in the nearby mall. I kept myself occupied.” She replied in a cordial way.
“Should I thank God or you for being so considerate? Anyways,
let’s head for the café! It’s already late.” He replied quickly.
They walked together through the pave way. Even her way of
walking made him fill with reconciliation. The more he spent time with her, the more fondness he grew for her. People find ways of being happy in life. He purely found the eternal in her. He held the glass door for her as they entered the café together.
“Mind you, this is the best café to have coffee. I came here a long time back!” she happily exclaimed.
For him, any cup of coffee with her would be the best.
For him, any cup of coffee with her would be the best.
“Well, I would trust you completely on this!” he
replied.
They sat opposite each to other. She started her wonderful narratives. Giggling through, she was recounting her early teen days and how mischievous she was. The naughtiness might have been a
negative perception for the world but for him, none of her qualities seemed to
be crazier enough to derail his thoughts towards her. She was more than the world to him. He got swayed in her
eyes. He could only regard such an euphoria and the elation in her dazzling
eyes. His mind already began to swim in a merry and jubilant illusionary world.
He couldn’t deliver a single confab. Words diminished in front of such a great elegant and
charming lady.
“Hello? Are you even listening to my encounters?” she almost
blared.
“Oh yeah, I am kind of missing my afternoon nap!” he replied
sluggishly.
“And here I am, expecting to have some good time with a friend to share my
memorable accounts!” she replied.
“I am all ears, madam!” he said in a soft manner.
“I have shared enough. You say? What’s keeping you alive as
of recent?” she laughed her way out of the statement.
He could have revealed right there that she was the only
living person which was breathing life to him. Without her, nothing was close to life for him. A long slumber was the only thing he was missing at the moment. For the most part of their
time, he was keeping the silence quotient intact. If it was not for
her thrilling allocutions, it would have been a silent movie. As it was revealed, they were too opposite and that scientifically attracted him towards
her.
He gave her a ride home. He drove
in the most eloquent manner as he possibly could, so as not to make the ride a harsh and
distressing one for her. It was the most gratifying ride in his inglorious
wheeler. While the wind blew on their faces, her ornate hair smeared through the gust of gale through the entire journey.
They reached her home. She climbed down. She gave
a parting smile. It was time to bid goodbye to that amazing evening. She
opened the gates to her home. As she was walking away from him, he realized
that the world is a huge endeavor of endless possibilities. He let all his
sorrows sink in. He wanted to fill every moment with a string of happiness. He
can never know the end result of fate. But what he can pursue doing is keeping alive the
friendship and loving her with all his might, without letting her know
obviously. She could not know, never!
“I brought you something!” he exclaimed, suddenly remembering the surprise souvenir.
“Brought something? What?” she replied in confusion.
“Here, this one’s for
you. I brought it for you!” he
replied, handing over her a hand-held clutch.
“I can’t accept it. It’s against my principles, lest it’s some occasion!” she told him with a smiling face.
For once, he knew that gifts are never to be returned back.
He had specially selected that gift for her. He had never bought something like that in his life and that was the first time he had.
After a short session of persuasion, she accepted the gift.
She was acting unusually shy at that moment. He didn’t want to dive into an
ocean of the usual possibilities. He wanted to remain in the reality. For once,
he couldn’t let his emotions swayed away by the beauty of that moment.
“Thank you for this lovely gift!” she said in a delight.
“You needn’t mention that, my Lady!” he replied with a gush
of demure, blushing in the usual manner as he does.
For some, blushing may be a way of showcasing timidity. He on
the other hand, let his affection towards her emblazon by doing so. A goodbye
is always an act of repentance while she is on the other side. He never wanted
to be apart from her.
“Good Night. And Thank you so much, once again!” she said in
the most pliable demeanor.
So much love :)
