How I feel about Holi!
The journey of my life started way back in the 1990s. Food,
clothes, books, pencils, erasers, pens, friends, PC games, football, Manchester
United and non-boys, of course were my area of fascination which would make my
heart pump blood at quadruple the normal rate. Life was so simple and enjoyable
even with the toughest of mathematical problems. Even my mom’s thrashings
became a happier and nostalgic part of my life. And then came Holi, the
festival of colours!
The deadliest of all the days in the calendar. And let me tell
you: I hate these 'Holi' days. And I haven't found any reason to be happy for covering
myself with all kinds of chemical powders that would in itself be a nightmarish
task to remove from the body. And ever since the day I got smeared with an awful lot
of disgusting colours on my face without my consent, my perception towards Holi has only deteriorated over the years. And my obligatory-views towards this festival has only earned me a fancy nickname amongst my neighbours:
The girly boy!! (Obviously, I hate that name)
Amidst all the trending topics surrounding the festival, let me just
wish all of you, a very happy Holi, indeed. My notion towards it wouldn’t
restrain me from wishing you a very happy one. I haven’t really enjoyed Holi as
such, the last time I actually played being more than a decade ago. And ever since that auspicious day, I haven’t paid heed to all these ultra-glowing
colours. For over a decade now, I have continued to lock myself up in my room
on these 'holi' days for the fear of being attacked with or without my consent, with the deadliest of the
weapons ever invented in the history of mankind: the ultra-colourful holi colours!! Neighbours, for the past few years have been a
constant threat to me, continuously enquiring about my whereabouts on these dreadful days. Little do they know that I have made myself an expert in keeping my entire human-body invisible to
unnecessary evils. And till the day they get successful in smacking colours on my face and lowering
their mortal remains, I wish you all to be happy. Respect. Happy reading.
I love holi. Because I love colours. Its not that bad ankit, try it again and am sure you will like it. And not all colours are harmful. Some colours can be useful to skin; try that colours
ReplyDeleteI dont love holi nor do I hate it. But me too, like u Mr. Ankit, have not played holi for a long time now. I cant remember the last time I did. But if my neighbours come I do put my face in front of them like a sheep to be slaughtered.
