Rapes, India and Justice!
It was
Friday the 13th of September,
and on this very day all the four convicts accused in that Nirbhaya case of 16th
December, which has been least described as heinous, got death sentence and
were ordered to be hanged till death. And thanks to that verdict, the family of
that innocent girl, who was the sad victim on that night, can now live in peace
and, believe that her soul may now rest in peace. The country can also heave a
sigh of relief which, for the past 8-9 months was filled with protests and
processions demanding justice for the girl. But the question still remains.
Will this verdict put a stop to these indescribable crimes? Are women safe in
our country? Don’t some of the devil men, for whom the whole of men community
is framed as evil, know how to respect women as a human being? These questions will
still haunt the common people, especially the women fraternity, for obvious
reasons.
First
and foremost, my question to those “rapists”: How on Earth did they think of
such a crime, which is even worse than a murder? Do those rapists not have
female family members? Don’t they respect them? Even if my blog post has been
full of question for the past 4-5 lines, it doesn’t intend to only question the
rapists. It also intends to cut off their ugly weapon with which they commit
the crime. It is totally against our law to speak of such punishments. But as a
citizen of India, I am thoroughly disturbed by the growing number of such
crimes. These criminals commit the crime, and even if each and every evidence
is against them, it takes days and months for the law to give a proper
punishment. And worst of all, if by any chance, the criminal is a juvenile,
meaning he is under the age of 18, he is not given the deserved punishment.
And, I seriously do not understand the credibility of such judgments. If a boy even
has any intentions to commit such a crime, why should he be described as a
juvenile? And thanks to such acts and
rules, my belief from our judiciary system is fading away. Special considerations
must have been put in to accommodate such special cases. I am in no position to
alter our law by any means, but I have full rights to question its credibility.
There are many such things in the country which needs to be changed, but thanks
to our leaders, who are busy filling up their pockets, no such changes have
taken place.
And
thanks to all such crimes, nowadays girls are not allowed to wear any
westernize, modern clothes by family members. They are forced to wear some old
fashioned clothes so that they do not attract attention. According to me, this
is not a solution. Rapes cannot be stopped by reducing one’s attraction. And
this would never bring an end to these dirty crimes. How on earth would clothes
stop such crimes? Clothes can never reduce the beauty and cuteness of a girl.
And above all, no one should question the freedom of choosing clothes. If in a
hot and humid place such as our country, you are not allowed to wear light
clothes, what are you supposed to wear? Woolen clothes? Covering the whole
body? Come on, a person has to be dumb enough to not even understand this.
After all , no one can replace our PM in this regard, can you? If a person views a girl in a dirty and
shameless way, he would continue to do so irrespective of the type of clothes
she may wear. Take the case of a beautiful girl. For example, Katrina Kaif. I
am not asking you to view her in a dirty way. And, I would never ever advise
you to do so. I have immense respect for all the girls. And above all, everybody
should respect women and girls. Now, coming back to Katrina Kaif, whatever thing
she wears would make her look very
beautiful and cute. From saris to modern clothes. So, it is the mindset of
people which needs to be changed. Whenever, I visit places like the market
places, I still see boys (the stupid, useless and jobless ones) sitting on
footpaths and other places, gazing shamelessly at girls, in positions only God
can explain. Come on, if you see a beautiful girl, look at her face. Why look
at restricted positions? I know it is not good to give girls looks. But a
slight look at her face to appreciate her beauty is not a big crime. Just a 2
second look. Unless and until, the male fraternity do not learn to respect the
female fraternity, these crimes would take a long time to stop. Women needs
special care and love, and above all, they deserve respect from the world. It
is the duty of us, to make sure that women feels safe around us, and not the
other way round. So, it is the duty of some of the obedient male counterparts
to make sure our female counterparts feel safe wherever they go. So, as a boy,
I vow to take care of every girl of our country as my sister and make them feel
safe and secure when I am around. This does not necessarily mean, “every” girl. One of them may be the special girl of my
life. And by no means, I am going to consider her as my sister. So, for the
rest of them, I want to make India a safer and secure place. Though my promise
looks vague in front of our whole population, I would take very possible step towards
achieving this feat. Not only me. It should be the duty of every person to make
India a safe place for everyone. Till then, be safe. RESPECT WOMEN.
Thumbs up..!
